ABOUT  PINK "ME"

PINK "ME"® is a nonprofit organization founded by Dr. Michelle P. Bean in 2020, dedicated to supporting women battling breast cancer and those on their journey towards survivorship. As a two-time breast cancer survivor herself, Dr. Bean embodies the mission of PINK "ME", emphasizing the importance of being a help to others and sharing one's journey. The organization focuses on raising awareness about breast cancer, particularly the significance of early detection through screenings.

PINK "ME" provides information, networking opportunities, and knowledge to help women lead healthy, fulfilled lives within a supportive community. The organization empowers women to be their own advocates, understand their options, and participate in activities that raise awareness while offering encouragement and emotional support.

OUR MISSION:

To compassionately support women during and after their breast cancer journey through education, inspiration, and advocacy so they can lead healthy, fulfilled lives within a supportive community.

OUR VISION:

To ensure that women diagnosed with breast cancer and survivors are compassionately supported during and after their journey with information related to awareness, as well as educational and networking opportunities so that they lead healthy fulfilled lives.  We will help women focus on being your own advocate, knowing your options, and will make available personal support groups for encouragement and emotional support.

The Story Behind PINK "ME"

Double Mastectomies, Double Victories, and a Double Chance at life!

Twin sisters, Dr. Michelle Bean and Melinda Bean, were living in different states—New Mexico and Virginia—when they were diagnosed with breast cancer just six weeks apart. Despite the distance, their shared experience created an unbreakable bond of strength, support, and understanding that carried them through their journeys toward survivorship.

Inspired by this deeply personal journey, Dr. Michelle Bean, Founder and President of PINK “ME”® (Providing Information, Networking, and Knowledge—“My Experience”), established the organization to ensure that no woman faces breast cancer alone. What began as a shared experience between sisters has grown into a mission to provide connection, education, and compassionate support to women and families navigating the breast cancer journey.

One of PINK “ME”®’s signature programs, Connected by Cells, reflects this vision. Transforming the fear of a cancer diagnosis into a source of connection and empowerment, this virtual support platform provides women with essential information, meaningful connections, and a supportive community grounded in compassion and shared experience.
