ABOUT PINK "ME"
PINK "ME"® is a nonprofit organization founded by Dr. Michelle P. Bean in 2020, dedicated to supporting women battling breast cancer and those on their journey towards survivorship. As a two-time breast cancer survivor herself, Dr. Bean embodies the mission of PINK "ME", emphasizing the importance of being a help to others and sharing one's journey. The organization focuses on raising awareness about breast cancer, particularly the significance of early detection through screenings.
PINK "ME" provides information, networking opportunities, and knowledge to help women lead healthy, fulfilled lives within a supportive community. The organization empowers women to be their own advocates, understand their options, and participate in activities that raise awareness while offering encouragement and emotional support.
OUR MISSION:
To compassionately support women during and after their breast cancer journey through education, inspiration, and advocacy so they can lead healthy, fulfilled lives within a supportive community.
OUR VISION:
To ensure that women diagnosed with breast cancer and survivors are compassionately supported during and after their journey with information related to awareness, as well as educational and networking opportunities so that they lead healthy fulfilled lives. We will help women focus on being your own advocate, knowing your options, and will make available personal support groups for encouragement and emotional support.
The Story Behind PINK "ME"
Double Mastectomies, Double Victories, and a Double Chance at life!
Twin sisters Dr. Michelle and Melinda Bean, living in different states—New Mexico and Virginia—were diagnosed with breast cancer just six weeks apart. This shared experience created a supportive bond that was crucial for both on their journeys toward survivorship. Inspired by this journey, Dr. Michelle Bean, the Founder and President, created PINK "ME" (Providing Information, Networking, and Knowledge, “My Experience”) to offer other women the same opportunity for connection and support. One of PINK "ME”’s programs, "Connected by Cells," embodies Dr. Bean’s vision by transforming the daunting diagnosis of cancerous cells into a positive, virtual support platform. It provides women with the necessary information for their journey, enables them to connect and network with others, and offers compassionate support.
No one should face breast cancer alone.
