About

ABOUT  PINK "ME"

PINK "ME"® is a 501(c) (3), nonprofit organization founded by Dr. Michelle P. Bean in 2020. As a two-time breast cancer survivor (2016, 2021), she believes it is important to "be a help to others", and to be thankful that you are here to share your journey. Dr. Bean is a true example of the mission and vision of PINK “ME”, knowing firsthand awareness surrounding breast cancer is incredibly important as early detection, often through screenings, can catch the disease when it is most treatable.

PINK "ME" provides information, networking, and knowledge to women battling breast cancer and those on their journey towards survivorship. Our goal is to ensure these women lead healthy, fulfilled lives in a supportive community of survivors, empowered to be their own advocates, know their options, and participate in activities that raise their awareness, while also being encouraged and emotionally supported.

OUR MISSION:

To compassionately support women during and after their breast cancer journey through education, inspiration, and advocacy so they can lead healthy, fulfilled lives within a supportive community.

OUR VISION:

To ensure that women diagnosed with breast cancer and survivors are compassionately supported during and after their journey with information related to awareness, as well as educational and networking opportunities so that they lead healthy fulfilled lives.  We will help women focus on being your own advocate, knowing your options, and will make available personal support groups for encouragement and emotional support.

The Story Behind PINK "ME"

Double Mastectomies, Double Victories, and a Double Chance at life!

Twin sisters Dr. Michelle and Melinda Bean living in different states, New Mexico, and Virginia, were diagnosed with breast cancer, just six weeks apart from each other, which naturally created a supportive platform they both needed on their journeys towards survivorship. Founder and President, Dr. Michelle Bean, was inspired through their journey, to provide to other women an opportunity to connect and support each other. Her experience and passion to give back is expressed through the mission and vision of PINK "ME” (Providing Information, Networking, and Knowledge, “My Experience”). One of PINK "ME” s Programs: Connected by Cells, fulfills part of Dr. Bean’s vision, "changing something that’s commonly heard when diagnosed with breast cancer, having cancerous cells, into a positive virtual support platform that allows women to obtain information needed for their journey, connect and network with others, all while being compassionately supported”.

No one should face breast cancer alone.
